A subject that is very near and dear to my heart…..
I have a love for musical instruments as well as music. Not too many people know that i started out as a musician. I started playing the flute in 4th grade and continued on through high school even taking private lessons and entering into Solo Competition. Once I scored a 99 out of 100 in Solo Competition playing the piccolo. It was a first, no one had ever played the piccolo in Solo Competition. It was around that time that I lost interest because of the sheer lack of support from my private instructor. She even blew me off one day during my private lesson that my mother was paying for when her “star pupil” stopped by during my lesson. That was the final straw for me and I quit playing the flute. I ventured into the bassoon and percussion until I graduated. Thankfully, I discovered photography as my true passion during my senior year. I am still very much a music lover and have a lot of respect for musicians. I am thankful that I can blend my love of music with my love of photography.

On the same day that I visited Stevie Ray Vaughan’s grave in Dallas I decided to stop by another notable figure from the area, although more infamous. It was Bonnie Parker of “Bonnie and Clyde”. I have yet to visit Clyde Barrow’s grave which is also located in Dallas but it is in a separate cemetery. Bonnie’s grave was very simple and understated and well hidden by some bushes. It is located in a part of town that doesn’t look like the best area. One feature of the cemetery is an art deco type of mausoleum. It was a very interesting building as shown in the photos.
The image of the mausoleum was photographed with the Retro Camera app for Android. The 2 images of Bonnie’s grave were photographed with my Nikon and merged with an image taken with Instagram for Android.
