Another vintage postcard that I purchased in New York was one of the Dutch Reformed Church in the center of the town of Woodstock. It’s a beautiful old church that was established in 1799. The Old Man of the Mountain, Woodstock, NY This is a vintage post card that I picked up while I was home in New York over the summer. I splurged and paid $2 for it because I did like the image, the postmark and the stamp, but the biggest reason was that it reminded me of the photo of The Band with the Catskills as the back drop and are most likely the same mountains. One of the items that I tend to gravitate to in Antique shops are typewriters. Ever since the word processor came into being the typewriter has become a thing of the past. The kids of today will never know the joys of having to use many pieces of paper to finish typing a college paper just because of silly typing mistakes, spelling errors, etc. They definitely have it easier with spell check and most importantly the delete key. I could have saved many all nighters just by simply having a delete key! Now I look at the typewriter as a work of art along with being a vintage piece.
